Advising

When you declared your major, you were assigned a Biology faculty advisor based on your interests. You should seek advising prior to registration, to discuss internships or research opportunities, or to have your progress in the degree program evaluated. Your faculty advisor will be the one who approves your Major Evaluation for graduation so it is a good idea to establish a relationship with your advisor prior to your senior year.
Finding Your Advisor
You can find out who your assigned faculty advisor is through Web4U. In the Student menu of Web4U, select Student Records. Then choose View Student Information which will show you your major and academic advisor.
Setting Up An Advising Appointment
It is a good idea to email your advisor to request an advising appointment. In your email, make sure to provide the days and times you are available as well as your W# so that your advisor can review your academic history before you meet. You also need to go to the meeting prepared, so you should download the Major Evaluation form and fill it out as completely as possible before the meeting.
