Point Reyes National Seashore Research Internship - Western Snowy Plover Recovery Project
One field assistant is needed for the Western Snowy Plover Recovery Project within Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, CA. The intern will be locating, protecting, and monitoring Snowy Plover nests at three locations within the park and helping to identify potential predators. Duties also include outreach and education of park visitors and volunteers. April 1 to August 31, 2008. Idaho's Mobile Environmental Education Corps - Live, learn, and teach in the mountains
The McCall Outdoor Science School (MOSS) Mobile Environmental Education Corps (MEEC) is a one-year AmeriCorps service opportunity (August 11, 2008 - August 31, 2009). AmeriCorps members will earn 12 University of Idaho credits (graduate or undergraduate) as well as a Professional Certificate in Environmental Education. The major components of this program are: field-based teaching experience in environmental education, Graduate level courses in ecology, teaching, and outdoor leadership, hands-on experience in non-profit operations. USDA Forest Service 2008 Wildlife Summer Internship - Work with threatened and sensitive bird species

Boston University - Ecosystem Ecology/Biogeochemistry/Global Change - Senior Research Technician

A full-time researach technician is needed to help facilitate and conduct field and laboratory research under teh supervision of Dr. Pamela Templer. The position includes managing a laboratory composed of undergraduate and graduate students. Research focus on the effects of climate change and atmospheric pollutants on nutrient cycling in temperate forest ecosystems. Experience in inorganic chemistry, ecology, plant and/or soil analyses is a plus. Program in Ecology, Behavior and Evolution - Boston University

Pamela Templer, PhD, of Boston University is seeking graduate students for the 2008-2009 academic year in the areas of biogeochemisstry, forest ecology and global change biology. Funding is available to work on a project examining the impacts of variation in winter climate on forest productivity and nutrient dynamics. Applicants should be independent and highly motivated with academic research and/or field experience in plant ecology, soil ecology or nutrient cycling.

Research Assistantships at Padilla Bay - The amount of each assistantship is normally $5000. We have identified several areas of particular emphasis for this year. However, we encourage, and have supported in the past, proposals for research on any aspect of estuarine science or coastal zone management. Priority consideration will be given to proposals received by May 12, 2006.
